Why Did God Create Human Beings?

Was humanity the CAUSE of sin?
Why would God create human beings into a Universe already contaminated with sin?
If humanity was not the CAUSE of sin, then why are we involved in it? It is obviously not OUR original problem?
What is the purpose of human beings in this whole controversy between Christ and Satan?
What is God's ultimate purpose in our creation?
